Dave sprung on me last night that he is going to India for 3 weeks with work soon. I HATE when he goes away at the best of times, but now is even worse. If we aren't pregnant by then (which he doesn't know when 'then' is yet) the only issue is that there will be an extra cycle that we won't be able to fall pregnant. If I find out while he is away, I won't get to see the look on his face when I tell him, and he will miss out on all of the exciting stuff at the beginning of the pregnancy. Also, I won't have his support going through all of the initial stuff, and I imagine it is all going to be daunting and a little scary. I said this morning that I woul have to tell our families without him, so I would at least have their support, which really inst how I wanted to do it. I have no idea how I would handle a miscarriage without Dave here. I have looked up some stats this morning, and 1 in 5 pregnancies end in miscarriage. I have just sent him an email with my concerns/solutions, so will see what he says.
On a better note, my temperature really seemed to peak today for the first time (I have been using the temperature charting method). It was a very definate peak, but Im not 100% that means that I have ovulated (Im only new to all of this!). But there was no reason to waste a possible opportunity! I haven't had any Cervical Mucus at all this month to know where that is up to. I ordered over the net on Tuesday night a Maybe Baby Fertility Microscope. You spit on the glass, let it dry, then look through the microscope. When it is a couple of days before ovulation, fern like crystals start to appear in the saliva when dry, caused by increased hormones. I have had some feed back from someone using that as well as charting, and they found it to be very accurate. I hope I don't get the chance to try it!
I have already bought some presents for infront of the families. Two really cute little lemon jumpsuits.
But I really don't want them to be for the baby to wear in the hospital. I would really like to find out what we are having. I want to have the babies room decked out as a little boys or little girls room, with a lovely wooden cot. And have some little boys or girls clothes on hand, so Im not dressing them in white, lemon or green. I want people to know that I have a boy or a girl, by more than me telling them the name. I have no idea about names, except if it is a girl I would like Lydia in there somewhere, to carry on the family tradition (even though Mum & Grandma broke it for a while). I am going to atart writing down names that I hear and like to look at later.
The other thing I am starting to write down is a list of things that I would like to do while I am spending days at home.
